A portrait of deep emotional intensity. The subject's gaze seems to pass through the canvas and reach you directly. Layer upon layer of glazing gives the skin an exceptional luminosity, recalling the great Flemish portrait painters, adapted to the contemporary African context.
About the artist
Nga S. has been painting portraits for 15 years. Her oil glazing technique, learned by studying the old masters, is instantly recognisable for the depth it gives to skin.
