The grasscutter (cane rat, known locally as aulacode) is a herbivorous rodent highly valued in Central Africa for the quality and unique taste of its meat. Our grasscutters are raised in controlled captivity and fed on fresh plants and tubers. The meat is lean, tender and tasty — ideal for special occasions and traditional dishes. Prices: 25,000 FCFA for 2-month-old young, 50,000 FCFA for an adult.
